WORKSHOPS

Tate Art Waitsburg offers art and sewing workshops throughout the year. Explore the available workshops below, no experience necessary.

  1. To sign up, click on the ‘Enroll In Workshops’ button below.

  2. Fill out the form and click ‘Register Now’.

  3. We will reach out to confirm your spot(s) and send payment instructions. We accept payments for classes through Venmo and PayPal. Enrollment is not secured until both the online registration form and payment are received.

  4. About a week before class, you will receive additional details about the materials list, etc.

  5. If any questions come up before class, you are welcome to email or text.

  6. Should your plans change after enrolling, let us know and a credit will be offered for future classes.

Open Sewing Lab

Saturday April 6 ⋅ 1:00 – 4:00pm
Saturday May 4 ⋅ 1:00 – 4:00pm
Saturday June 8 ⋅ 1:00 – 4:00pm

Studio Fee: $25.00

Use one of our four vintage sewing machines to work on a new or current project. Instruction on how to use each machine is included in the lab fee. $25.00 fee for the afternoon. Guidance on your projects is free!

 

Watercolor Class

Session #1 Saturday, April 13 ⋅ 12:00 – 3:00pm
Session #2 Saturday, April 27 ⋅ 12:00 – 3:00pm
Session #3 Saturday, May 18 ⋅ 12:00 – 3:00pm

Class Fee: $150.00, byo materials or purchase in studio.

Instructor Greg Tate teaches the basics of watercolor in this three hour class. Materials list will be sent one week prior to class. Art supplies will also be available for purchase at the studio. The Class Fee is non-refundable, but can be applied to another art class should your plans change.

 

Clay Studio

Saturdays, June 1 / June 8 / June 15 ⋅ 9:00am – 12:00pm

Class Fee: $200.00, materials included.

Instructor Greg Tate teaches the basics of working with clay in this three session class. Class meets once per week for three weeks. Each class is three hours and will cover basic instruction in handbuilding, wheel throwing and glazing.  Materials are provided in this introductory class.  The Class Fee is non-refundable, but can be applied to another art class.

 

Drawing Class

Block Printing Class

Saturday, August 3, 2024 ⋅ 12:00 – 3:00pm

Class Fee: $75.00, materials included.

Learn the basics of block printing by creating a collograph plate using found objects to create a raised relief plate you can use to make a one-of-a-kind print. Supplies are included in the class fee. The Class Fee is non-refundable but can be applied as a credit for another class.

 

Block Print Holiday Card Class

Saturday, November 2, 2024 ⋅ 12:00 – 3:00pm

Class Fee: $75.00, materials included.

Create unique holiday or winter themed cards by working with a linoleum block and carving tools.  Fee of $75.00 includes materials. The Class Fee is non-refundable but can be applied as a credit for another class.
